Loan description:
Ruen Ven is 51 years old and married with five children who are aged between 28 and 14. His four older children have their own jobs. Ruen and his family live in O Kam Bot village, which is in Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Ruen and his wife farm four hectares of rice paddy and the yield from this gives them around two and a half tonnes per hectare and he generally sells all of his crops to a middleman who buys from his village. During the rainy season he also fishes in the nearby flooded field and flooded forest which is another source of income for his household. To get more income for his household while it is the rainy season, Ruen decided to ask for a loan in order to buy another fishing boat so his son can also help him catch fish. They normally sell the fish they catch from their home as most people buy directly from them. He will repay this loan over a period of ten months. This is his second loan through lendwithcare.
