Loan description:
Agnès is married with six children. Four of her children are studying at school, one is an apprentice tailor and one a very young child and therefore unable to attend school. Agnès is 40 years old. For the last five years Agnès' principal activity has been the sale of food crops (maize, rice, gari), the sale of red palm oil, peanut oil and fish. In addition to this activity, she has a mill which she uses to crush spices for villagers. Agnès buys her food crops from markets in Bohicon and her fish from Kétou. Having always honored her commitments to the microfinance institution, ACFB, Agnès has now requested a larger loan of 600,000 CFA francs to buy bags of corn, gari and rice as well as a 100 litres of palm oil to satisfy the demand of her customers. The profits she makes from this business will be used to support her family. She will also save a part of her profits to purchase another machine to grind spices to replace the one she currently uses. She will repay this loan over 12 months.
