Hugo Tituaña González is 70 and has 11 children from two marriages. The youngest two children are below the age of 18. Hugo's first wife passed away and he re-married. However, his second wife left him two years ago and he is responsible for the younger two children who are both still at school. Don Hugo has had several jobs, including bricklayer, labourer, factory worker, and driver. However, at his age he looked for something less tiring and bought a small cart with the help of one his elder children. He now sells fruit juice, herbal tea and pasties from the cart. He travels around the centre of the town of Catamayo as an itinerant trader each day. He starts work at 5 am each morning and sought a loan in order to buy a large freezer. This will enable him to keep greater quantities of ice and also buy and keep frozen products until he requires them.
