Loan description:
Chhoeurb Reun is 37 years old and married with five children aged between one and ten. The elder two attend primary school while the three younger children are not enrolled yet. He lives with his family in the village of Panha, in Kampong Preah commune, Sangke district, in Battambang province which is in north-west Cambodia, not far from the Thai border. For the past 15 years, Chhoeurb has bought fish from fishermen from near the flooded forest, transports the fish, and sells it to retailers in the local fish market. He makes a profit of around US$8 per day. He applied for a loan in order to buy a new motorbike. The loan is for nine months. Chhoeurb considers that a new motorcycle will make transport and travelling much easier.
