Loan description:
Mely Inte runs a small grocery store. She is 49 years old and married with six children aged between 17 and 26, some of whom are still in education while the other already working. Her husband Ghodyn is a soldier and is often stationed elsewhere. Mely sells products such as spices, powdered and soft drinks, snacks, canned foods, and biscuits. Her shop is also her home and she has had the business for about ten years. From very humble beginnings it has noticeably improved and Mely also now has a small refrigerator in which she stocks drinks mainly. She sought a loan from the microfinance organisation Maranding Women Investors Multi-Purpose Cooperative in order to buy extra stock for her shop. She tries to buy in bulk thereby obtaining a discount. The loan is for six months.
