Loan description:
Dolores Maza is 59 years old and divorced with four adult children. She lives alone in her own house in the rural neighbourhood of Trapichillo in the district of Catamayo. Dolores used to work as a day labourer in the neighbouring district of Gonzanamá but had to stop because she found it increasingly difficult. With some savings she started raising and selling chickens and now has a good income - it is hard work at times but raising chickens is profitable. She has sought her first loan from the microfinance institution Fundacion FACES in order to buy more chickens, feed and she will also buy some ducks. A part of her income is for medicines as she has been suffering ill-health. The loan is for six months.
Loan added: 30 April 2012
