Zlata

Zlata Talic is 40 years old and a widow. She has two sons; aged 10 and 11, they go to primary school. They live in a place called Tupac in the city of Vitez in central Bosnia. Zlata has a pension but it isn't enough to meet all of her living expenses or the expense of schooling her children. So Zlata started a business in farming. She has a smallholding where she grows vegetables: beans, onions, potatoes, corn and garlic. She has regular customers in the city of Zenica, which provides her with a safe market and means she can expand her business. She is very pleased because this work provides her with a significant income and a better future for her children and herself. Zlata is a great fighter and worker. She is always trying to improve herself. Zlata has been a very good client of the microcredit foundation Women for Women International for the last four years and has now applied for another loan, which she will use to buy seeds and prepare her soil for sowing.
