Loan description:
Sro Am Srey is 21 years old and married with one child, who is two years old. Sro Am and her family live in Sambok Ok village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. Since getting married three years ago, Sro Am and her husband have worked as farmers. At the moment they farm three hectares of rice paddy and rent three hectares. The yield gives them around two tonnes per hectare and they stock one tonne of this rice for their basic needs. To expand their rice production they have applied for a loan to buy one more hectare of rice paddy. Aside from farming rice, they also grow wax gourds (a type of melon) on a piece of land that is 1,600 square metres in size, which can earn them about $3 a day. Sro Am and her husband promise to pay this loan back over nine months. In the future they also hope to raise some chickens from their home.
