Loan description:
Chan Chom is 60 years old and married with three children, aged between 21 and 30 - all of whom are married. They live in Andoung Trach village, Kampong Preah commune, Sangke district, Battambang province. Chan and her husband, Saroeurn Yung, are farmers and cultivate around three hectares of rice paddy. The yield gives them about three tonnes per hectare. They keep around one and a half tonnes for the family's own consumption. To save on costs associated with renting, they have sought a loan in order to buy a new hand tractor to help with ploughing. They also hope to be able to rent the tractor out to other farmers (the photograph shows Chan's husband, Saroeurn Yung).
