Sophat Yon is 31 years old and married with two sons, her children are aged 1 and 5 years old. They live in Prek Tachreng village, which is in Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Sophat is a sweet seller and her husband, Doen Thorng who is 32 years old, is a boat maker and has been making boats for over 15 years. Currently he makes new boats to order and he provides a renovation service that includes re-painting or repairs. To build new boats it takes him about three to seven days and at the moment he does this work single-handedly. As their working capital is limited, they have applied for a loan to buy more wood to build the boats. They aim to pay this loan back over eight months (The photographs show Sophat's husband renovating a customer's boat)
