Bosnia-Herzegovina
Loan description:
Tima Suljic is 47 years old. She is a widow. She lives with her son, Hasmir who is 23, in the town of Sreberenica in eastern Bosnia. Their home was destroyed during the Bosnian War. They returned after the war and rebuilt their home with assistance from CARE. Having returned Tima started to raise and then sell livestock. At present she has 15 sheep. Once the sheep are fully grown she sells them at the market or to specific customers from whom she has taken orders. She also sells wool from the sheep. Her son helps her with the business. She does also receive a small widow's pension from the state. Tima has been a very good client of the microfinance foundation 'Women for Women International' for the last two years. She has sought a loan in order to buy food for the sheep during the winter months, and also to buy chickens - she wants to start a separate enterprise raising and selling poultry.
