Loan description:
Rodeline Mata is 31 years old and married with four children aged 11, 9, 7 and 5. All of her children are studying at the local primary school in Purok Antipolo, which is in the town of Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur province. The main source of income for Rodeline and her family is a small vegetable stall in the Agora public market, which Rodeline manages. The main products she sells are Chinese cabbages, string beans, radishes and bell peppers but Rodeline's stock can vary depending on the season. Her products are arranged on old wooden tables and at the end of the day, she places them into separate baskets to keep them fresh for the next day. Rodeline also offers a free peeling service for some of the vegetables and chops them into small pieces for the convenience of the customers. Rodeline sought the assistance of the microfinance organisation, Maranding Women’s Investors Multi-Purpose Cooperative in order to purchase more stocks of vegetables for the stall. She also plans to replace the old wooden tables she is using. Rodeline also avails the micro-insurance services offered by her MFI. The income she generates will be used for the education of her children until they finish college. She has promised to repay her loan over a period of 6 months.
