Loan description:
Kamsot Choub is 35 years old and a widow with seven children aged between 16 and 5. The five youngest children are in school. They live in Kropureu Chueng village in Banon district in Battambang province. Relatively recently, Kamsot started raising and selling pigs. She currently has four piglets and keeps them on land next to her home. She uses commercial feed combined with rice bran and vegetables as food for the animals. Kamsot estimates that she will be able to sell the pigs at the market after about 4-5 months. She has limited working capital and has therefore sought a loan in order to buy commercial feed, build a better pigsty and buy some more piglets. The loan is for five months. If all goes well, Kamsot expects to increase the number of animals she raises next year.
